COMPLAINT FILED 7/22/2026
Tiffany S
I filed an arbitration claim after purchasing a 2018 Toyota C-HR because of a significant drivetrain noise. ADESA Clear arranged for an independent inspection, which concluded the noise was caused by a front wheel bearing and denied my claim because it did not meet the arbitration threshold.
Believing the diagnosis was incorrect, I paid for an additional inspection from an independent repair facility. That inspection concluded there was no wheel bearing issue and determined the noise was coming from the transmission/final drive due to bearing wear.
According to my conversations with ADESA Customer Support, I was advised to obtain another inspection because the claim could potentially be reopened. After paying for that inspection and submitting the documentation, I was informed that the arbitration decision would not be reconsidered because outside inspections cannot overturn the original decision.
My concern is not only the denial of the arbitration claim, but that I incurred additional expense based on guidance I received, only to have the additional evidence refused for consideration. I believe the arbitration process did not fairly evaluate the conflicting inspection findings.
